Gift Aid Declaration

What Is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate - at no extra cost to you. It’s a simple and effective way to make your donation go even further.

How Does It Work?

When you donate to a registered UK charity and confirm you’re a UK taxpayer, the charity can reclaim the basic rate of tax you’ve already paid on your donation. This means:

  • If you donate £10, the charity receives £12.50.

  • You don’t pay any more but the charity benefits more.

Who Is Eligible?

You can use Gift Aid if you:

  • Are a UK taxpayer?

  • Pay enough Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax to cover the amount the charity will reclaim

  • Have given a Gift Aid declaration to the charity

You do not need to be employed - pensions and savings interest may still count, as long as tax has been paid.

How Do I Sign Up?

If you make a donation online all you need to do is tick the box.

If you are donating through a cheque or bank transfer then you will need to fill our Gift Aid Declaration Form and send it to us via post or email.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • If you stop paying enough tax, you need to let the charity know - otherwise you may have to pay the difference back to HMRC.

  • Higher-rate taxpayers can also claim back the difference between the basic rate and their rate of tax on their Self Assessment, this can be kept or donated back to charity.

Gift Aid is a great way to boost your charitable impact without spending an extra penny. Just tick the box and make your donation go further.
