Hall Grove School Turns Comedy into Hope
On Friday 3rd October 2025, the Hall Grove School community came together for an evening of laughter and generosity - all in support of Neuroblastoma UK.
The event was the brainchild of Caroline and Pete Coulthard. The couple were inspired to raise funds after their four-year-old niece, Holly, was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma in 2024.
The Coulthards’ idea quickly gained momentum within the Hall Grove community - a school that had already been affected by childhood cancer, having previously lost a pupil to the disease. With strong support from parents, staff, and friends, the plan grew into a full-scale Comedy Night, featuring a stellar line-up of performers who either donated their time or significantly reduced their fees for the cause.
Guests were welcomed by magician Kirit Magic before enjoying a night of entertainment headlined by Matt Daniel-Baker, alongside comedians Hilary O’Neil, Don Biswas, Martin Graham, and Kayleigh Jones.
More than 200 members of the Hall Grove community came together for the sold-out event, raising an outstanding £4,919.38 for Neuroblastoma UK.
“We are deeply grateful to Caroline and Pete for their incredible dedication, and to everyone at Hall Grove School for embracing this cause so wholeheartedly. Every ticket bought, every laugh shared, and every pound raised brings us closer to our goal. Thank you.”
The evening was a heartfelt reminder of how community spirit, compassion, and a good dose of laughter can bring real hope to families affected by childhood cancer.
