Celebrating Our Incredible Supporters at the BBC Good Food Show Summer
On Sunday 21st June, we attended the BBC Good Foods Show Summer for a day of raising awareness, connecting with supporters, and celebrating some truly remarkable individuals who continue to make a difference to children and families affected by this devastating disease.
A very special thank you goes to our Patron, Angellica Bell, for choosing us as her nominated charity for the event. Angellica's ongoing support, enthusiasm and commitment to our cause mean so much to everyone at the charity, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she does to help raise awareness of neuroblastoma.
The event also marked a significant milestone for us as we proudly presented our very first Gold Supporter Badges. These awards recognise outstanding individuals who have gone above and beyond in their support of the neuroblastoma community, and we were honoured to present them to Eddie, Harriot, Ren, Tony and Angellica.
Ren and his family have faced an incredibly challenging journey since Ren's neuroblastoma diagnosis in 2024. Thankfully, Ren is now in remission and continues to attend regular scans. Throughout this difficult time, Harriot and Eddie have shown extraordinary determination and resilience, raising an astonishing £26,000, and counting, to support neuroblastoma research and families affected by the disease. It felt only fitting to recognise their extraordinary contribution to the neuroblastoma community, with our Patron Angellica Bell presenting them with their Gold Supporter Badge. Their unwavering commitment, generosity and determination to make a difference have been inspiring, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate their achievements and impact they continue to make.
We were also delighted to honour Tony Heddon, a long-standing supporter of the charity whose generosity, encouragement and unwavering commitment have had a lasting impact on our work over many years including his time as Chair of our Board of Trustees. Supporters like Tony play a vital role in helping us continue our mission, and we are deeply grateful for everything he has done.
During the BBC Good Food Show Summer, our Patron Angellica Bell hosted her own live cooking show, with £1 from every ticket sold being donated to Neuroblastoma UK. Not only did this provide valuable support for our work, but it also gave us a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of neuroblastoma with a wider audience. We were honoured to have our charity video shown during the session, helping to shine a light on the realities faced by children and families affected by the disease. The highlight for many, however, was Ren, who completely stole the show by getting up and dancing, bringing smiles to the audience and perfectly capturing the joy, resilience and hope of all of us that day.
Days like these are a powerful reminder of why our work matters. Seeing our community come together, sharing stories, raising awareness and celebrating the people who make a difference fills us with hope for the future.
