NBUK Announces New Chair

Meet Tony Heddon, our new Chair

We are delighted to announce Tony Heddon as our new Chair of Neuroblastoma UK. Tony takes over from Guy Blanchard who has completed a successful 16 months as Acting Chair. This means Guy can now dedicate 100% of his efforts back in his role as Research Trustee.

Tony joined Neuroblastoma UK as Fundraising Trustee in 2017, and became Deputy Chair in the autumn. He has worked closely with the team, in particular Guy, our patrons Andy Pearson and Alan Carr and numerous fundraisers up and down the country. He first became involved with us in 2004 when we were known as The Neuroblastoma Society. This was following the death of Greg Faithfull, the son of a close family friend, which had a profound effect on Tony, and he committed to raising as much money as possible to fund research into finding a cure. Over the following years he ran Marathons, half Marathons and shorter races as well as hosting auctions and other fundraising events. He also committed that once he had more time he would become involved in the day to day activity of the charity.

Tony said “I am truly honoured to have been asked to be Chair of this wonderful charity. I am  supported by a talented and dedicated team of Trustees and volunteers all of whom have a personal passion and, in many cases, professional expertise to help fulfil our mission."

As well as being a passionate advocate for the charity, Tony’s background in UK and international business, driving growth and developing high performing teams, will help the charity fulfil its future ambitions.  His previous roles were Vice President Growth – Europe - Aramark Corporation and prior to that UK Sales Director Aramark.
