A passing of time: 40 portraits

To mark our 40th anniversary, Joanne Humphreys, a professional artist and long-term supporter of Neuroblastoma UK, is creating some very special works of art entitled ‘The Passing of Time: 40 Portraits’.

Inspired by her son, Joanne is producing a series of 40 portraits capturing the courage of 40 children affected by neuroblastoma.

Joanna said, “My son Graeme died of neuroblastoma on the eve of the millennium at the age of four years old. Since then I have spent many years raising money for the charity Neuroblastoma UK.

“To commemorate 40 years of the charity I will be completing 40 portraits in memory of my son Graeme and all the children affected by this terrible cancer.”

Joanne has been working to transform photographs into beautiful portraits which we hope to see exhibited later this year. At the end of the exhibition, Joanne will very kindly gift the portraits to the families involved.

We are very grateful to Joanne for this incredibly generous gesture. Our sincere thanks also to everyone who has shared their photos with us for this very special project.

If you would like to support Joanne’s project and make a small donation towards the material and venue costs, please visit her GoFundMe page to donate online.
