Guidance updated 23 June

We understand that some families are concerned about COVID-19 / coronavirus, and the uncertainty about what impact it may have on their child or their child’s neuroblastoma treatment and care.

We’re working with Solving Kids’ Cancer to help the neuroblastoma community.

We’re working with Solving Kids’ Cancer to help the neuroblastoma community.

Neuroblastoma UK and Solving Kids’ Cancer will be working together to ensure that the neuroblastoma community is provided with as much timely and reliable information as possible.

We are working closely with the clinical community and charity partners to understand this rapidly evolving situation, and will provide further updates once we have them.

Our charities are aiming to continue business as usual as much as possible at this time.

Resource for children with cancer

The Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) have provided a very helpful resource for children currently in treatment which is available here: www.cclg.org.uk/Coronavirus-advice.

Guidance updated 23 June

The team at CCLG have produced guidance for children and young people on active cancer treatment up to the age of 18 and for those who have received a bone marrow transplant (BMT), also called a stem cell transplant (SCT).

CCLG have also recently published data about children with cancer who have had coronavirus, to provide a clear picture of the impact of the virus on young cancer patients. Based on the information gathered by this project, CCLG’s updated advice includes recommendations for the extremely vulnerable and vulnerable groups.

Families travelling for treatment outside of the UK, with the assistance of Solving Kids’ Cancer, will be contacted directly.

AS ALWAYS, IF YOU HAVE ANY IMMEDIATE CONCERNS PLEASE SPEAK TO YOUR CHILD’S PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER.

Both Neuroblastoma UK and Solving Kids’ Cancer are very grateful to the wonderful staff in our NHS who are working in extraordinary circumstances at this time.

AN URGENT APPEAL

The impact of the coronavirus on local communities means that many fundraising events have been cancelled. Events which would have helped to fund vital research into neuroblastoma.

Donations from these events make up around 25% of the money we raise every year. A huge amount for a small charity like ours.

Please help us to continue our fight against neuroblastoma during this time of uncertainty. Thank you.
